If you have one reason why you have to go and watch the movie it has to be Andhakaasura’s role. Ravi Shankar brings the character to life with a terrifying voice, firghtening body language and a scary make-up. Some standing out performances still are there with an emotional delivery by Nagarjuna himself and absolute electrifying performance by Ravi Shankar who plays Andhakaasura. The narration is supported by an uninteresting performance by Prakash Raj who is obese and distracted with he being there for just for his paycheque. The former is there in plenty but the latter is missing. Socio fantasy films are all about those tethering experiences with wondrous graphics and strong emotions by protagonists. A gem of a story, it could have possibly been an answer to a whole lot of those Oscar-winning Award flicks, poorly written screenplay plays the villain this time. Initially racy but slowly the movie loses its pace with the commercial elements coming in which rather have been an impediment for you to sit in the auditorium. Having a lot of good things about itself, the movie still falters. The take off and landing are perfect and in the middle is some 120 minutes of rather uninteresting narration you would want to see. The movie was more like a flight journey. Fortunately he is the only saving grace in this poorly narrated socio fantasy drama. Nagarjuna says that his heart beat is the sound of Shiva’s Damarukham. But it is a an interesting leaf picked up from our rich Hindu mythology. No! It doesnot a resemblance of Immortals of Meluha by Amish Tripathi. Nagarjuna continues his journey to pick up more interesting roles and finds yet another interesting role with Damarukham. Lord Shiva cleverly uses Nagarjuna as a powerful weapon to finish off Andhakaasura and his plans.Īfter being delayed for quite sometime, Damarukham finally hit the screens this weekend. Maheshwari is hunted down by Aghoras as they see the destruction of the world. Andhakaasura is granted a wish by Lord Shiva ( Prakash Raj) to marry Maheshwari. He finds that Maheshwari (Anushka) is his only way as she is born with the blessings of Goddess Parvathi. Plot: Malli (Nagarjuna) loses his parents in his childhood due to an attack by Andhakaasura (Ravishankar) who is the last surviving one of the Rakashasas and is ambitious to rule the 14 worlds and reinstall the glory of the demons.
